Comas: the Police seize more than 400 cell phones of dubious origin in a mega-operation in the Unicachi Market

 According to RPP the police officers intervened in a total of 30 stands that, under the façade of technical service posts, would be dedicated to the sale of mobile phones of dubious origin, some of them reported as stolen.

For the lack of certifying documents for the seized mobile phones, the PNP proceeded to arrest 5 people for alleged crimes against property and intellectual property. The suspects and the seized material were transferred to the headquarters of the Investigation Division of Crimes against the State of the PNP (Dividce), in Pueblo Libre. 

The head of the Dividce, Crnl. PNP Wilson Sánchez Sánchez, reported that they will continue with this type of operation in different parts of Metropolitan Lima.

This mega-operation in the Unicachi Market included the participation of police officers from the State Security Directorate (Dirseest) and the Special Operations Directorate (Diroes), as well as the Immigration Division and the Transit Division of the PNP.

As reported by the PNP, so far in 2022, a total of 24,473 cell phones have been seized in operations carried out in markets, galleries and spaces for the sale of this type of device of dubious origin.
