11 robberies per hour are confirmed in the contry 

During 2021 there were 94,789 criminal acts, according to the annual report of the Police Complaints System (Sidpol). In addition, the data indicates that reported crimes increased by 18% (14,869) in relation to the previous year, when 79,920 acts were recorded.

Statistics confirm that theft and aggravated robbery were the ones that have grown the most, these crimes registered 83% (78,482) of the criminal incidence. In 2020 there were 67,431 acts of insecurity. Likewise, in 2021 the national rate of relevant crimes (theft and aggravated robbery, extortion, homicides, contract killings, femicides, gunshot wounds, kidnapping and rape) was 287 per 100,000 inhabitants. In the case of homicides, 2,166 homicides were registered nationwide, 376 cases more than in 2020. Lima, La Libertad, Callao, Piura, Puno, Ica, Arequipa and Junín accounted for 85% (1,585 cases).
